Featured on Trendy Bride Magazine: Western Style Wedding Inspiration
Arlene and I met through a common friend, and we learned that we have a few things in common, 1) We both lived in California, 2) We're both Aquarians and 3) We are both passionate about the wedding industry - she as a photographer and I as a calligrapher. She had this idea of recreating her Southwestern style in Miami, and when she photographed me while teaching a calligraphy workshop at the Curtiss Mansion last winter - we knew we had found the perfect backdrop for her vision.
The vision was to bring in Southwestern boho vibes to Miami. I chose ivory white Fabulous Fancy Pants paper as my substrate, and used bronze tones for the ink to mix the warm, earthy and organic palette. I used a script that was fun and whimsical which is very much in tune with the boho vibes of Southern California. Vintage Mexican stamps adorned the stationery pieces, sealed with bronze wax to complement the neutral earthy tones.
The Tulum suite is reminiscent of the warm sun kissed vibes of coastal Mexico. I designed a very whimsical script that resembled the fun boho vibes of Tulum. I had major wanderlust making this suite, and I hope you love it as much as I did making it.
We had amazing afternoon light that day, and it was almost as if Golden Hour went on all afternoon. We featured a real couple - also both photographers - and their love was just pure magic to capture and be inspired by. Read the full feature here, published May 31, 2018
